      Guardian Angel Program

On the fence about adopting?  Want a dog, but the landlord says no way?  Do you want to give a dog a home, but for some reason you cannot at this time?  We have a new program to help the dogs at the White County Animal Shelter find new and loving homes and you are the key.

Become a guardian angel to a dog at the shelter.  It’s easy, and you will have the satisfaction of knowing you help your dog find a new place to call home.  Become an angel to a specific dog, a specific pen, or even a monthly donation will work, too.

Here’s how it works: We will make a framed photo with your name letting everyone know you are a special dog’s Guardian Angel and hang on the outside of their kennel door.  We will send you an update on your dog when they are adopted and a emailed copy of your Guardian Angel photo plaque.  We can always tweak this to make it work for you.

POPS (Pals of the Pooches at the White County Animal Shelter) is a 501(c)(3) Organization.  All your donations are tax deductible.

Other Guardian Angel Options
We have 16 inside kennels (the most used) and 17 outside kennels.  We try to keep the dogs inside as much as possible.  All our kennels are numbered, and you can become the Guardian Angel to a specific kennel.  Choose an option above and anytime a new dog enters the kennel, he or she will get a head start on getting adopted sooner.
The final option is to become the Guardian Angel by making a monthly donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, $100, or whatever you choose and we will apply the funds to a dog in that kennel or another dog in need of vetting to get them adopted.
Donations can be made via PayPal which can be found under the donate tab of the website. Just be sure to note that you are a Guardian Angel and the name of your dog, or number of your kennel.
